Chang Kyun Kim
Kim was born in South Korea. He holds an MFA in Photography from Parsons the New School for Design, New York City, U.S, and an MS in International Studies and a BA in Chinese Literature from Chung-ang University, Seoul, South Korea. Kim is interested in re-visualizing urban landscapes that metaphorically reveal our current time.
Since 2007, his work has been exhibited in U.S, Europe and Asia and is included in collections such as Musee De Elysee in Switzerland, Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts in U.S and Michaelis Galleries of University of Cape Town in South Africa. He was awarded as one of the ‘Tomorrow’s Photographers Today’ by Musee de Elysee in Switzerland, which resulted in a five-year traveling exhibition throughout the world and his work was published by major art publishers such as Aperture(U.S), Thames & Hudson(U.K), teNeues(Germany), SHOTS(U.K), and Photographie(Germany).
He was the final recipient of EM Art Emerging Artist Grant 2009(South Korea), which resulted in his first solo show in South Korea in 2010. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, U.S
